Vessels for Bio-Trickling & Bio Filters

ERG Hygrade fabricates GRP vessels, housings and internal structures for use in bio-trickling filters and biofilter systems treating hydrogen sulphide (H₂S) and odorous air streams in wastewater and industrial applications.

Our scope is focused on the fabrication of corrosion-resistant structures that support biological treatment processes supplied and operated by specialist system designers and end users.

Vessels are produced to suit the required airflow, media type and site constraints, with configurations including vertical GRP towers and large flat-panel rectangular housings for higher-capacity installations.

Typical internal features may include:

  • Media support floors and bed limiters

  • Irrigation and liquid distribution headers

  • Access hatches, inspection ports and lifting points

  • Structural reinforcement for long-term outdoor service

Fabrication is carried out using chemically resistant thermoplastics and GRP laminates selected for durability, low maintenance and long service life in aggressive wastewater environments.

Media selection and biological process performance are determined by the system designer or operator. ERG Hygrade fabricates vessels compatible with commonly used biofilter and bio-trickling media, including inert pumice (lava rock), woodchip and structured plastic packing.

By focusing on precision vessel fabrication, ERG Hygrade supplies robust, compliant housings that form the structural backbone of biological odour control systems — allowing process specialists to focus on treatment performance.
