ERG Hygrade was selected by leading hazardous waste specialist Augean PLC to fabricate and refurbish GRP chemical storage tanks and associated scrubber vessels at one of its UK processing facilities.
The scope combined new-build tank fabrication with refurbishment and re-use of existing GRP assets, requiring a controlled, fabrication-led approach aligned with BS EN 13121-3.
The project included:
Fabrication of new GRP chemical storage tanks to BS EN 13121-3
Refurbishment of an existing GRP scrubber vessel and associated components
Modification and reinstallation of three relocated chemical storage tanks
Fabrication of GRP ductwork, discharge stacks, and structural interfaces
Supply and installation of ancillary mechanical equipment to support liquid transfer
ERG Hygrade carried out on-site mechanical works to integrate the fabricated and refurbished equipment into the existing plant layout, including pipework connections and equipment positioning.
All works were completed with a focus on build quality, material compatibility, and maintainability, supporting the long-term operation of the client’s tank farm assets.
This project demonstrates ERG Hygrade’s capability in fabricating and refurbishing GRP tanks and vessels for hazardous waste environments, delivering high-integrity plastic equipment suitable for integration into complex industrial facilities.
