Case Study

Hydrogen Chloride Gas

Venturi Scrubber

ERG Hygrade fabricated a series of corrosion-resistant GRP Venturi scrubber vessels for use within a hydrogen chloride (HCl) gas treatment application at a UK pharmaceutical manufacturing facility.

The equipment was manufactured to accommodate high-temperature, highly corrosive process conditions and supplied for integration into an existing gas handling system by others.

The fabrication scope included multiple GRP Venturi scrubber vessels manufactured using high-temperature vinyl ester resin systems, with laminate design selected to suit continuous exposure to acidic gas streams.

Each vessel was supplied with flanged connections, access ports, and structural interfaces to allow installation alongside adjacent process equipment.

The GRP vessels were fabricated in accordance with British Standard BS 4994 (now superseded by BS EN 13121), with workshop assembly and dimensional checks completed prior to dispatch.
